A unique service designed around the holistic needs of the individual young person, we offer fully integrated therapeutic residential childcare with curriculum-based registered education within a nurturing environment.

A Clinical Service:
All children and young people placed with Oracle Care typically have 1 direct session per week with a qualified Oracle Clinician (at a pace and frequency that suits the individual). We do not use “bolt on” consultants; our team of Forensic/Clinical Psychologists and Psychotherapists all work closely with our Head of Education and Residential Service Manager so that we can provide integrated health, education and social care tailored to each individual’s needs. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is applied in a systemic way across the organisation to optimise the child’s welfare and promote social functioning to reduce barriers to learning.

Education:
Oracle School forms the “hub” of the Oracle Community. Our team of qualified teachers encompass the skills, interests and ability to meet educational needs at each appropriate Key Stage. All pupils/learners engage in 30 hours of timetabled education per week, much of which is delivered on a 1:1 basis. Most of the young people referred to Oracle hold statements for Special Educational Needs and many have significant gaps in their previous schooling.  Complex needs, alongside previous negative experiences, which may present obstacles to learning, mean that their individual therapy sessions are critical to tackling these issues and any associated behaviours. The integrated approach enables the Oracle Team to promote learning and achievement and support each individual to aspire to their full potential. Our Head Teacher works closely with the Clinical Director and Residential Service Manager.

Home:
Oracle’s 4/5 bed, detached residential homes are comfortable, offering a relaxed, informal, nurturing environment. Each individual has their own room, organised and decorated to their own preference. Residential staff attend school with the young people each day and are available to support the teachers at school and on activities, as required.  We carefully match placements, which are all underpinned by thorough risk assessment, and we actively manage risk to enable our young people to have the same opportunities for positive and exciting experiences as those children who are not “in care”.
