Our Bedfordshire homes made the most of their half term holiday with a wide range of activities. The young people and staff were clearly kept busy with fun and exciting adventures all crammed into one week.
Activities included sports like bowling, badminton, ice-skating and Laser Quest together with trips to London to celebrate Chinese New Year and visiting Wembley Stadium. While in London the young people dined out and tried new foods. While at Wembley the visit included being pitch side, walking through the players entrance, lifting the FA Cup something not many people get the opportunity to do.
One visit during the holiday was to Mercedes World where they had the opportunity to drive an actual car... amazing!
Two very special events cannot go without mentioning though -
• One very special young lady cut her long hair short and donated her pony-tail to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children whom have lost their hair. This means that she had at least 7 inches of hair cut off as that is the minimum length for donation. An amazing self-less act for someone so young. We are all very proud of her!
• A young man also cooked his first ever three course meal for his house mates, something he had not even contemplated before. We all know where to go for dinner.... his Orange Mouse was delicious!
Credit also to the young people who dedicated some of their time towards their educational studies - well done!
They all returned to school
this week, working hard and planning for their next adventures during the
