Boys Donate Presents

Last night the three boys at one of our Bedfordshire homes went to Bedford Hospital.

They donated presents and chocolates to the Children's Ward.

We're so proud of our boys for wanting to help children who will be ill in hospital over Christmas.

School Christmas Lunches

This week both our schools hosted a festive Christmas lunch.

Our pupils assisted our Food Tech teachers to prepare a delicious 3 course meal, to which all staff had been invited too.

It was a lovely occasion where everyone sat down together and celebrated another successful term.

There was even a surprise visit from Santa with a sackful of presents (he looked suspiciously like our Head of Care Mark Cole...)

Christmas Tree Festival

A few of the Art Students at our Bedford School entered a local Christmas Tree Festival at St Nicholas Church in Barton Le Clay.

Each student created their own Bitmoji character and made a bauble for themselves. They also each hung a key on the tree with a label saying 'the key to my success is...'

The crowning glory was the beautiful Oracle star on the top - the students named our entry 'The Oracle Star.'

The judges awarded us 2nd Place with a "Highly Commended" Award, much to everyone's delight!

Hampers for the Homeless

Today students at our Bedford School delivered 10 hampers and 2 big bags of food to a local homeless charity, The Kings Arms Project.

The pupils brought in donations of food and other daily essentials over several weeks. It took several journeys to unload them all from the car!

We are very proud of our students, and the way they have dedicated their efforts into giving to others.

Mike's School Journey

When I started at Bedford Oracle School I found it very welcoming and it has been a big change for me which is a good change. I have been meeting new people and finding out what other people like and what their interests are. I have gone into Dove Cottage which is a really nice house with really good staff they are there to look after and to keep you safe. I have settled into school really well and I really enjoy Tri-line sports. I get on really well with the staff and students. The staff are very supportive and the students have made me welcoming and made me settle in really well. I think of this school as a normal school, where you can do all the subjects. All of this is very interesting and it is really simple to get around the school. There are only 3 or 4 students in a class at one time. There is a one to one tuition due to the low numbers in the class. You will be able to make friends easily

My favourite subject is PE. It is interactive - you can improve your technique and it improves your way of learning, I was really happy for my first PE lesson and I really enjoyed it because we did lots of different exercises and I wanted to do one sport. I learnt a lot from my first PE lesson.
