I was born in Jamaica into a family of educators with a mother who instilled in me a love of learning. I earned my Diploma in Education at Church Teacher’s College in Mandeville in Jamaica, my Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at the University of Technology, Master’s degree in Education from Northern Caribbean University and PhD in education (pending) from the University of Reading.
I have been in education for the past 18 years, and have served as classroom teacher, tutor, teacher with responsibility for student leadership, SEN and pupil premium champion to raise the attainment of vulnerable children. I have also served as head of department, head of faculty and Deputy Head teacher.
I am passionate about the power education has to change lives for the better. My years of experience have led me to develop a strong belief that children learn best when they are having fun and are engaged in practical, real life activities and that children need kind but firm boundaries. I also believe that strong relationships with parents and the wider community are vital in ensuring that children are supported as they move through their school life. Consequently, I am delighted to be working together with pupils, staff, parents/guardians, governors and everyone else involved with Oracle Care and Education for all our children's success, achievement and welfare.
I look forward to seeing you in school and working with your children at Oracle School in Bedford.
