respecting individuality

We specialise in helping young people with particularly diverse or complex difficulties, some presenting with mental health or learning challenges. Individuals may, in addition, be identified as having current high-risk potential.

We are experienced in working with young people, who are currently living in Secure Accommodation. We offer therapeutic programs and actively engage in discharge planning to ensure successful transition into a community provision. Oracle creates a sense of belonging and interdependence through the investment and creation of mutually respectful relationships.

Risk management underpins all aspects of our operation. Risk is viewed as a dynamic process, requiring systematic assessment, monitoring and effective responses to change. The staff team have considerable expertise in this field, working in conjunction with public protection agencies.

The young people receive weekly, individual sessions with a psychologist or psychotherapist, specialised in this field. These focus upon psychosexual/behavioural issues, and their impact upon themselves and others. Cognitive-behavioural principles are applied in a creative, systemic approach to enhance skills, modify behaviours and thought processes.

Our Clinical services fall into 2 categories:

those provided internally for every child/young person placed with Oracle, living in one of our small homes and attending the Oracle School

those provided on a consultancy basis (eg performing an Assessment and/or Court Report) for an individual child/young person in an external setting (eg family, foster care or an alternative residential placement)

We work in a flexible and imaginative way, and can begin clinical work with a young person in an alternative setting (on consultancy basis) to plan and effect a smooth transition to a placement within Oracle, or elsewhere, as appropriate.

extended support services (ESS)

At Oracle, we will actively manage risk and specialise in creating imaginative, viable solutions to complex scenarios.

ESS fall into 3 main categories:

  1. Preventative
  2. Transitional
  3. Outreach

Our past experience includes:

bullet Outreach within the community
bullet Preventative work within families
bullet Risk management and Assessments
bullet Relapse prevention and community support
bullet Discharge planning from secure accommodation settings
bullet Multi-Agency Public Protection Panel Arrangements (MAPPA) advice

Oracle is committed to promoting contact for children, young people and their families and to providing extended support services to smooth transitions to and from different care settings through effective communication, consistency and continuity of care.
