Oracle Care is a specialist residential care service designed to support young people, aged between ten and eighteen with complex needs, an aspect of which may relate to problematic psychosexual development and/or interpersonally inappropriate, risky or harmful behaviours.
We are based in Staffordshire but are currently collaborating with several local authorities to develop regionalised centres in order that young people do not have to move out of their domiciliary regions. We are pleased to announce that we have taken on our second, full-time, directly employed, Psychologist to increase the expertise and capacity at Oracle. Nicky Mosson-Jones is a Chartered Forensic Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and joined us at the beginning of March 2008. Nicky's experience includes 12 years as a prison Psychologist followed more recently by working with young people in residential care. This co-incides with the opening of our fourth home in Staffordshire and the start of a 12 month service level agreement for the provision of consultancy services (risk assessments, court reports, relapse prevention strategies, MAPPA advice, etc) with a local authority. Nicky will work closely with the Oracle Team under the clinical supervision of Steve Gray. Oracle is committed to an open and honest exchange of information in order to enable accurate assessment of risk and effective planning for best outcomes for young people. We welcome enquiries and confidential discussion and Steve Gray will offer a free telephone consultation in respect of any specific case. Where possible, the Oracle team will engage in early discussion and facilitate meetings and visits for children and young people, their families and significant others, social worker and other relevant professionals. We believe in full participation and involvement of children and young people in the planning process and are flexible and creative in engaging their interest. Please call 0870 850 2949 to discuss any enquiry or referral with our team. You can also download our referral form and pre-admission risk assessment, which can be faxed to our head office on 01260 297673 when complete.
